A poem of resistance | Bethany N. Bella

I straddled that line
That balance-bias line
Pressed against the press
And the ‘do no harm’
With knowledge, I am armed
In fury, I sound the alarm
I’m not feeling this with feeling
I am rooted in fact
And I can’t go back
Back on that safety net track
This is all that I know
You birthed an activist
I’m not a creationist
I’m a create-your-own fist
If there’s a gnawing at your soul
Darling, don’t miss your chance
Don’t be afraid.
