A poem by Bethany N. Bella
Powered by photosynthesis
Sunlight streaking through my veins
Every ligament like a twig,
and every bone like a branch
rising up, swaying in the wind –
or wherever the wind may blow.
Autumn colors in my hair
Green wildfire in my eyes
Rough and tumble skin,
smooth and easy smile
like a river running wild –
or wherever the river may flow.
Wholesome and natural
Incomplete and full
Total eclipse of the elements,
right on time, time like abandon –
or wherever the time may go.
