I’ve been struggling through some crippling insecurities lately, always made manifest when my school-churning brain is ‘at rest.’ So, inspired by a fellow Bobcat blogger, I decided this morning to interject body/self positivity into the universe with the following questionnaire.
How well could you answer these questions about yourself?
- When I wake up in the morning, how do I most want to feel? Refreshed and rejuvenated to tackle another day
- What does my ideal day look like from morning to night? Waking up to a sunrise, birds chirping, and coffee; going out on a hike in the woods; watching some really cool TED talks; having lunch with a friend; reading a really good book; yoga/meditation time; cooking something yummy; spending time with my brother/family
- What do I need more of in my life? Body positivity and outdoor wanderings
- What do I need to let go of? My crippling doubt and insecurity about my body/my self
- What beliefs are holding me back from living my dream life? My belief in perfection and all-knowingness
- What does success mean to me? Feeling proud of myself
- What is the message that I want to share with the world? Every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Know yours
- What brings me genuine joy? Laughing, especially with my brother
- What am I most grateful for right now? The ability for bodies to heal themselves
- What am I proud of myself for? Rising up, again and again, even though it would have been easier not to
- What do I most need to heal right now? My self-image
- What do I want my life to look like in three years? In 3 years? Discovering life in a new place, finding my way, calling old friends, backcountry traveling, maybe loving someone else
- What makes me feel truly alive? Walking in a forest, biking, and jumping off a diving board 🙂
- What do I most love about myself? My curiosity and penchant for environmental justice
- What makes me feel nourished on all levels (mind, body, and soul)? Yoga and dance
- What wild things would I love to try? Hiking the Appalachian Trail, freelancing, and living out of a backpack on a multi-country trek
- If I could make a living doing anything I wanted, what would I do? Being a National Geographic editor and/or photographer
- What do I need to forgive myself for? Putting my faith externally instead of internally
- What would I do if I wasn’t so afraid of failing? Pursue love
- What is my top goal right now? Get through this next semester without any injuries…
- If I could talk to my teenage self, what would I say? Don’t wish it all away
- What do I want my legacy to be? Every person counts. Be you, be unapologetically you, and know you play a part in this story of great environmental change
- How can I add more fun into my everyday life? Not working all the time, going out dancing, and quit taking myself so seriously
- How have I been getting in the way of achieving my goals? Doubting my ability to heal myself (physically, mentally, and emotionally)
- What makes me feel powerful and lit up? Getting a routine memorized in Zumba class!
- What do I need to stop doing to live a richer and happier life? Checking social media so often
- What am I afraid of? Rejection
- How do I add value to the world and those around me? Inspiring creativity and action
- How can I show myself more love? Treating “me time” as important as “work time”
- What desires do I need to surrender to the universe? My desires for perfection, control, and all-knowingness
